Sideways is a local family BBQ restaurant located on The Harbor in Rockwall, Texas, owned by Josh Deaton and Jeff Cassar. Josh started off cooking in his backyard, eventually competing in BBQ Competitions. He won some, he lost some but eventually fine-tuned some crazy good BBQ. Jeff had an 11-year coaching career in the Major League Soccer Association and was the USA goalie in the 1996 Olympics. Both Jeff and Josh want to bring a new entertaining environment to the Rockwall community, that also involves enjoyable food. Weekly entertainment starts Tuesdays with open mic, Wednesdays are karaoke nights and Thursday-Saturday acoustic shows or live bands. Like our Facebook page for more information on shows and dates. Gerald Hendrik is a financial advisor helping families manage their wealth.  He sits on the Board for The Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Texas, The American Lung Association, Vice Chair for the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors group, and Vice Chair for the Young Professionals of Rockwall.  Gerald specializes in many different areas of the industry including Investment management, Divorce, retirement planning, estate planning, and overall comprehensive financial planning. 

Gerald graduated from the University of North Texas and holds his industry licenses. He is a Texas native and spends his time outside of work raising his daughter, twin boys, and mini schnauzer Emmitt, with his beautiful wife Melanie.

-I'm a husband and proud father of three.  My oldest attends Texas Christian University and my boys are at RHS where they both wrestle, John plays trumpet in the band, and Luke is on the World Championship Qualifying Full Metal Jackets Robotics team 1296.  It was been a highlight of mine to coach them as they grew up, wrestling, baseball, pop warner football.  
-My wife, Amy, grew up in Mesquite (Poteet HS) and her family all lives in Rockwall now.  We met at Harpoon Harry's in Panama City, FL while on Spring Break '98.  She was earning her Marketing and Management degree at Texas A&M and I was earning my Economics degree from the Unitesd States Military Academy at West Point.  She shared and sacraficed through my Army 21-year Army career, so when I retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, we came to Rockwall to be near her family.

My family and I have lived in Rockwall Texas for 20+ years and this is our home. I truly believe in supporting local businesses, and local Nonprofits.

As a retired vet, I am able to fulfill my "call to duty" by being the Executive Director and President of Patriot Sporting Challenge, a 501(c)3 all-volunteer charitable organization. Our mission is to conduct fun-filled sporting activities to benefit the families of killed or wounded military veterans and first responders. Once a year we hold a combination golfing and fishing event on Lake Fork and The Links at Land's End golf course, followed by an afternoon and evening of casino games, food, and live entertainment. Because of the successful past 4 events, we have already donated over $400,000 to the Folds of Honor, a national organization awarding scholarships to the legacies of killed or wounded soldiers and first responders.

I am an Army veteran with a great work ethic. I have started a mobile RV, auto and trailer repair company. I specialize in coming to you and doing the repairs where you are. I have been repairing different types of vehicles for over 20 years. I went to the Nation RV Training Academy in Athens, TX to become a registered RV Technician. My company is insured.
