Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled seasoned tax preparation specialist to join our growing team in Rockwall, Texas. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients while developing expertise in individual and business tax preparation in a professional law firm environment.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday

• Location: 2701 Sunset Ridge Drive, Suite 302, Rockwall, TX 75032

• Compensation: $75,000 annual salary plus quarterly performance bonuses

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for HNWIs, individuals, small business owners and businesses, including 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 returns (primarily US-based clients)

• Manage tax estimates and liability calculations for clients

• Conduct comprehensive tax research using professional tools including Bluej and other research platforms

• Utilize ProConnect for efficient tax preparation and data management

• Maintain paperless workflows for data storage and tax return processing

• Collaborate closely with our tax team and lead attorney to deliver exceptional client service

• Assist clients with tax planning strategy implementation and compliance requirements

• Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience preparing individual and small business income tax returns

• Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment

• Previous experience where clients with diverse tax needs

• Strong proficiency in federal and state tax codes and regulations

• Technology skills including experience with tax preparation software (ProConnect preferred)

• Excellent research and analytical abilities with attention to detail

• Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) for client interaction

• Professional demeanor and ability to work with diverse clientele

• Organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

• Must be able to commute to our Rockwall, Texas office location

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or Enrolled Agent license (highly desirable but not required)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Experience with Canopy Tax practice management software

• Creative problem-solving skills for complex tax situations
