EXEMPT STATUS: SALARIED, EXEMPT
COMMITMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME
BASE OF OPERATIONS: ROCKWALL, TX

JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Engagement & Training Specialist at the Children’s Advocacy Center for Rockwall County (CACRC) assists the Community Engagement & Training program by coordinating and facilitating child abuse awareness, outreach, education/prevention efforts in Rockwall County, and assisting with CACRC Volunteer program. Responsibilities include coordination and presentation of pre-approved child abuse awareness/prevention and education curriculum, fostering relationships with and proactive outreach to community stakeholders, creating education and awareness materials, and social media content development, and assisting with the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Coordinate and conduct various educational programs for community professionals, parents, and students on identification, reporting and prevention of child abuse and neglect
• Assist in development and facilitation of community outreach presentations and coordinate/provide training to other professionals
•  Establish and maintain positive working relationships with schools and community agencies/groups for education and awareness (i.e., faith-based organizations/childcare facilities/youth-serving organizations)
• Promote, coordinate, and conduct quarterly community-at-large trainings
• Create and assemble marketing pieces including the development and scheduling of CACRC social media content
• Assist with annual marketing/communication calendar
• Monitor strategic plan on an ongoing basis to identify growth opportunities for further development of the Community Engagement Program by reviewing program progress, prospective outreach, and upcoming objectives
• Represent CACRC and speak at community events, as requested
• Maintain effective team dynamics during stressful situations
• Work independently in the field
• Prepare and maintain training records, evaluations, and monthly reports
• Assist with and attend community awareness/fundraising events
• Collaborate and promote CACRC’s Go Blue for Kids campaign for child abuse prevention month
• Attend community meetings and network with local professionals
• Manage CACRC Community Engagement Events & Education calendar
• Assist with the recruitment, training, and coordination of CACRC volunteers
• Stay current on new research, legislation and community issues related to child/family welfare
• Conduct Center tours, as requested
• Other job duties as requested by Director of Community Engagement & Training or CEO

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in education, child development, marketing/communications, social sciences or equivalent, or 2-4 years of experience providing presentations in a professional setting

Experience:
• Experience in public speaking and training implementation
• Two year’s work experience with child abuse victims and their families preferred

Knowledge Requirements:
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency is highly desirable but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
• Possess a high level of cultural intelligence, to ensure that services are accessible and tailored to meet the individual and unique needs of clients, community members, and the MDT regarding culture, development, and special needs
• Ability to multi-task and work with diverse perspectives
• Excellent computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to learn and use web-based software
• Possess ability to collaborate and interact well with team members from various disciplines
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure of deadlines

Physical Requirements:
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching squatting, kneeling and other movement required in working with children
• Lifting of office/outreach materials (up to 40 lbs.)
• Frequent travel by private auto required

Other Information:
• Position involves some evening and weekend hours
• Travel may occasionally be required for educational or business purposes. It is not anticipated that any travel would last more than 2-3 days
• Must have valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance and reliable transportation
• Expected participation in professional development activities
• Employment is dependent upon the successful completion of a background check, including criminal and DPFS clearances
