The Rainbow Room Volunteer Shopper will play a vital role in supporting children in
foster care by working closely with caseworkers to fulfill urgent supply requests. This
volunteer position involves gathering essential items from the Rainbow Room and
assisting with deliveries, ensuring that children’s needs are met within 24 hours of a
caseworker's request.
Responsibilities:
? Collaboration with Caseworkers: Communicate with caseworkers to promptly
receive and respond to requests for supplies needed by foster families and
children.
? Inventory Management: Retrieve requested items such as clothing, toiletries,
and other essential goods from the Rainbow Room's inventory.
? Fulfilling Large Item Requests: Coordinate and assist in sourcing larger, critical
items not stocked in the Rainbow Room (e.g., cribs, beds, diapers).
? Timely Fulfillment: Ensure that all requests are addressed and fulfilled within 24
hours of receiving the request from caseworkers.
? Delivery Assistance: Assist with the delivery and distribution of supplies when
necessary to ensure items reach children and families in need.
? Time Commitment:
Approximately 15 hours per month, with flexible scheduling to accommodate the
urgency of caseworker requests.
Competencies:
? Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under time
constraints.
? Effective communication skills to collaborate with caseworkers and other team
members.
? A willingness to be proactive and resourceful in finding larger, essential items not
in stock.
