Overview
The Volunteer Coordinator is a volunteer position responsible for recruiting, training,
and managing volunteers to support the organization's programs and initiatives. This
role ensures that all volunteer activities align with the organization's mission and goals
while providing a positive experience for volunteers. The Coordinator will work closely
with different departments to understand their volunteer needs and facilitate the
placement of volunteers accordingly.
Responsibilities
? Recruitment & Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to attract a diverse
pool of volunteers through community outreach, social media, and partnerships.
? Volunteer Management: Schedule and supervise volunteers, ensuring that
tasks are completed efficiently and align with the organization’s objectives.
? Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with volunteers, ensuring
they feel valued and engaged. Provide ongoing support and feedback to
volunteers. Serve as liaison between volunteers and staff to ensure that the use
of volunteers meets the strategic needs of programs as defined by staff and to
provide a quality experience for volunteers.
? Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate volunteer records, track volunteer
hours, and generate reports. Assist with event planning and execution, where
volunteers are needed.
? Program Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of the volunteer program and
suggest improvements or changes as needed.
? Approximately 5 hours a month and will increase to 15 hours a month during our
event season
